Technical Sales Support Engineer


POSITION SUMMARY:

The Technical Sales Support Engineer Position works as a technical sales consultant to engineers, architects, utility companies, contractors, and owners/developers in the design, application and sale of heating and ventilation systems, controls and related material across our distributor network & business partners. This position works closely with the respective Sales, product and technical team in providing quality technical pre and post-sales support in relation to all Control Valves + Actuators offering in Belimo Products. Engage and participate in providing training to customers as required. Collaborate with Regional Technical Product team to produce technical sales and market launch collateral to help increase sales in HVAC segments

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Providing high-quality technical support, perform a wide range of activities on Belimo Control Valves + Actuators and Competitor products Analysis including technical market research, technical requirements and competitive analysis, solution implementation, benchmark and effectiveness testing of products
  • Contact and call on consulting engineers, mechanical contractors, architects, utility companies, and owners to achieve annual sales and gross margin goals.
  • Conduct sales, design, and application training to above reference key decision makers
  • Work with specifying engineers and design-build contractors to help specify the Valves & Actuators products
  • Engaged in design and creation of technical marketing materials for Sales and marketing to positively influence the sale activities
  • Engage and participate in providing training to customers as required
  • Have the capabilities of independent study, research, and authoring competitive technical marketing documents
  • Explore new ways of improving existing products and services as a way of increasing profitability
  • Documenting troubleshooting and problem resolution steps. Must be able to identify and resolve customer engagement issues; Escalate if appropriate.
  • Compliance with cooperation policy like ASHRAE Standards, HSE laws & regulation and HR code of conducts etc.

FUNCTIONAL:

  • 50% Support and responsible for any testing of internal Belimo product applications and troubleshooting. To provide a high level of technical support across the company, both to internal Customers and to external customers. Taking ownership of customer issues reported and seeing problems through to resolution
  • 40% Engage and participate in providing training to customers as required
  • 10% Ensure proper recording and closure of all issues
  • CONTACTS : (internal/external) : Works closely with Country Sales and Marketing Manager, Regional Product and Technical Manager, Regional Sales Support Manager and Regional Customer Service Representatives

OTHERS : (travel, working conditions, unusual work schedules)

Expecting to spend at least 70% of the time visiting the direct and indirect customers to have better customer insights and implement effective troubleshooting and customer feedback. Some weekend travel may be necessary for marketing & technical trouble-shootings events

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, technical skill, and/or ability required

  • 2+ to 7+ years of proven technical sales, HVAC technical products experiences
  • Diploma of higher in Mechanical Engineering preferred or a similar technical discipline, with 2+ to 7+ years of HVAC, Refrigeration, or Controls/BMS experience
  • Possess a strong passion & have solid understanding of HVAC principles
  • Verifiable experience with specified products
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Proficient with a PC and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong work ethic, responsible, self-accountability
  • Customer focused, reliable, flexible and cooperative
  • Ability to work well within a team as well as on own
  • Works well with people, effectively handles conflict and demonstrates flexibility in work style to accommodate changing priorities and fixed deadlines, Self-motivated, capable of seeking quality solutions and continuously focusing on process improvements, while keeping the needs of the business in the forefront. Must possess strong project management skills & Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Extremely organized, ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Good contacts with M&E Consultants will be an advantage
  • Possess own vehicle with valid driving license
  • Continuous training and self-development program will be providing
